Relic Plinths are inscription-bearing pedestals with six possible chapter states. Use a Surveyor’s Lens directly on a plinth to read and record its chapter.
A crafted or newly placed plinth starts with The Road, the first chapter. Its chapter is not retained when it is mined and placed again. Generated plinths may carry other chapters.
Place in the story
A plinth gives an object or inscription a place apart from ordinary supplies. Its stepped form makes the lettering something to approach and examine, fitting a story that is assembled by reading what remains in specific rooms.
The Expedition describes a sealed vessel brought back from beneath the roots. A relic pedestal can suggest the Roadkeepers’ concern with keeping and examining recovered things, but the chapter does not identify a particular plinth as the vessel’s original stand.
Generated plinths can carry any of the six chapter states. Read the actual block with the Surveyor’s Lens to record its words. A crafted or newly placed plinth begins with The Road; moving it does not preserve a later chapter.
