The Roadkeeper’s Supply Crate has iron bindings and a full twenty-seven-slot inventory. It uses ordinary barrel storage and faces the player on placement.
Crates placed in Roadkeeper structures may hold supplies. A crate you craft yourself is an empty container for your own items.
Place in the story
Supply Crates belong to the practical side of an open road: keeping food, light and equipment within reach. Crates and caches make the Roadkeepers’ promise of shelter depend on stored goods and repeated work, not only a mark above the door.
The later account of workers fleeing to the Keep gives the abandoned stores another context. The furnished workshops and caches are traces of places that had a working life before their occupants left.
