Cinderbound remain in the Ashen Foundry and Ember Watch. Furnace sounds and a smoke-edged warning precede their burst. Their industrial setting connects them to the Furnace chapter and the machines left obeying the order to let no one follow.
The burst is narrow and forward-facing. A successful hit sets its victim on fire for at least two seconds, but does not place fire blocks on the building. Like the other guardians, the Cinderbound exposes a lower-armor recovery pose after committing to its attack.
Place in the story
The Cinderbound stands inside places where fire and work remain after the workers have gone. The Furnace records sealed kilns, a flight to the keep and a final command to the machines. That context connects its continued attack to a workplace still carrying out an old purpose.
The Foundry’s casting notice counts six housings and one empty place. It invites questions about what was made there, but never identifies those housings as Cinderbound bodies or says that travelers’ lives were used to make them. The creature’s fiery appearance alone does not settle its origin.
