A large articulated timber crane is the Quarry Worksite’s landmark. The cut stone beneath its chain, uneven stacks of masonry, tool benches and drafting shed show a yard in the middle of supplying the roads.
The smaller rooms provide working and resting spaces around the open yard. Look for The Expedition inscription and search the supplies left behind. The site can appear in Stony Peaks as well as its lower, grassy biomes when the ground passes the structure’s placement checks.
Place in the story
Stone Order 41 asks for four bridge caps and six lamp plinths, ending with “No monument.” The quarry’s most telling commission is therefore for crossings and lights rather than a memorial to a ruler. Read as a statement of priorities, it fits the Roadkeepers’ emphasis on useful work for strangers.
The crew-pay notice leaves a ledger on the desk and supplies in the rear chest. The Expedition chapter appears among these ordinary records. Surveying, paying crews and cutting stone belong to the same world as the extraordinary descent, but the chapter does not identify the quarry workers as the expedition party.
