Mossbound Aqueduct

Five vaulted arches carry a dry watercourse and an upper inspection walk.

The Mossbound Aqueduct stretches across five vaulted openings with tapered buttresses below the upper channel. One end has broken away. The upper inspection walk and the spaces beneath the arches let you explore the structure at two different heights.

This aqueduct appears on eligible dry land; you do not need to find a river beneath it. Search its storage and read The Furnace inscription. The connection is a record of the Roadkeepers’ failed attempts at containment, rather than a required link to a particular reservoir in the same world.

Place in the story

The channel-repair notice sends workers to tools below, provisions above and the service stair between them. Along with the upper inspection walk and buttresses, it presents the aqueduct as infrastructure that needed regular attention.

The Furnace chapter puts the failure of water beside this water-carrying work. That is a thematic connection rather than proof that this aqueduct was plumbed into a particular reservoir or that its flow could cure the vessel. Its repair instructions retain the Roadkeepers’ habit of leaving the next worker supplied.
