The Buried Reservoir is the desert dungeon. A monumental arch, unequal watch drums and the remains of an aqueduct mark its surface entrance. A broad descent leads into a two-tank gallery, with service spaces, pipework and a suspended vessel above the central crossing.
The lower galleries reach twelve blocks beneath the ground reference and contain both a Lantern Sentinel and a Rootbound Keeper. Follow the walkways through the waterworks and look for The Furnace inscription. It records failed attempts to still the vessel with water or empty it with fire. The suspended structure is a visual focal point; the story is collected by reading its inscriptions with the Lens.
Place in the story
The reservoir turns the failed attempt with water into a setting you can walk through. Its tanks, pipework, control gallery and suspended chamber make containment the dominant image. The Furnace chapter supplies the actual account: water would not still the vessel, and fire would not empty it.
The control-gallery notice is more direct: “Water was no cure / Keep it sealed.” It also says that a fragment lights the nearby lamp. That pairing allows a smaller act of care inside a place defined by an unsuccessful cure. The chapter and control notice leave containment unresolved, while the cold lamp still offers a small repair you can make.
