A damaged columned portico marks the Sunken Archive’s entrance. The broad stair descends fourteen blocks below the ground reference into vaulted rooms with book aisles, reading bays and a sealed record chamber.
A Lantern Sentinel guards the underground rooms. Use the walls and columns to break its line of sight, then take the opening after its sweep. A relic plinth holds The Expedition chapter. Read it with the Lens and search the shelves and containers while moving through the connected archive.
Place in the story
The lower-archive notice says that all copies are sealed and that the vessel must not be catalogued again. The books, reading bays and closed record chamber show the work of collecting knowledge under a new restriction. The word “again” points to an earlier attempt, but the notice does not reveal what was learned.
The Expedition chapter is the text preserved on the site’s plinth. It records the return with a vessel, while the separate Reader Index VI points toward ordinary reader supplies. That index title is not a seventh chapter or a requirement to read the journal in numbered locations.
