The Seventh Signal rises from an octagonal stone drum into a tapered spire. Corbels, flying ribs and an uneven survey balcony break up the tower’s outline. The upper signal cage is a landmark to look for above the surrounding terrain.
The furnished watch spaces contain beds, desks, spare lights and supply storage. Its inscription, The Signal, records a dark tower and a sentinel ordered to hold a stair until its keeper returned. The tower itself is a waystation; the mod’s Sentinel encounters are found in the guarded dungeons listed in the creature guide.
Place in the story
The weather, survey and watch notices repeat the same routine: measure, mark, answer each light and return before dusk. The tower’s work therefore reaches beyond defense. Its lamps belong to a system of observation and replies, which makes an unanswered light a break in an ordinary shared routine.
The Signal chapter records three lights and a dark fourth tower, then the order to watch a stair until the keeper returns. A separate notice beside the cold lamp says “The watch goes on / Till she returns.” The pronoun is not explained there. These records preserve a wait, rather than confirming who failed to return or why the fourth light went dark.
